I noticed there was a new BIOS update available for my MB last night, I have updated that just in case that had any bug fixes causing it, but the problem remains.Ĭ:\Program Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft.Messaging_4.0 _x86_8wekyb3d8bbwe\SkypeHost.exeĬ:\Program Files (x86)\TeamViewer\TeamViewer.exeĬ:\Program Files (x86)\NVIDIA Corporation\Update Core\NvBackend.exeĬ:\Program Files (x86)\SAVITECH\SVLoadSense\SVLoadSense.exeĬ:\Users\Tony\AppData\Local\Microsoft\OneDrive\One Drive.exeĬ:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\bin\steamwebhelper.exeĬ:\Users\Tony\AppData\Roaming\uTorrent\uTorrent.ex eĬ:\Program Files (x86)\\Ĭ:\Users\Tony\AppData\Roaming\uTorrent\updates\3.4. It was physically built for me but I installed the OS and everything else on it, and this problem has happened from Day One. I should also mention, this is a new PC, I've had it for a month.
I've run all the Windows troubleshooters as suggested on some webpages. I have checked startup tasks and there is nothing in there that should cause the folder to open (and it's not happening during start up anyway). I have all the latest Windows updates installed. I have run antivirus checks, and malware bytes scan, and nothing unusual was picked up.
But as far as I know I should be able to install programs to non-C drive locations. The only thing I can assume is maybe there is some conflict between the Program Files folders in my E drive and my C drive that somehow causes this folder to open at random times. And I also have a F drive which is just for data. My setup is C drive is a SSD with OS and my most common apps, (D drive DVD), E drive is what I have called 'Data (Programs and Games) - it's a seperate physical HD where I install other less commonly used programs and games to, to save space on my SSD. I am running Windows 10, latest updates installed. When the E drive folder opens, it opens at the lowest level and shows me the three folders at first level, which are: Games, Program Files, and Program Files (x86).
When an existing folder comes to the foreground, this can be whatever folder I already have open in the background. When the new window opens by itself, it seems to always be the same folder - my E drive. Related to this, sometimes if I already have a folder window open in the background, it will suddenly bring itself to the foreground for no reason either. I might be working away browsing or doing emails or whatever, then all of a sudden the file explorer/folder window has opened by itself for no reason. Occasionally, but consistently, I will have a file explorer window open by itself.
